Tradition of taking shoes off and storing places around World
After finding out about chinese shoe storing wardrobes outside their houses, now I'm curious about the tradition. May be we should make a opportunity list from fetishist perspective.

Are there shoe cabinets in your apartments hallway?

Not where I live in my part of London but I'm genuinely interested in this too but I used to work as a door to door fundraiser for about a year and found a pretty cool lovely goldmine somewhere out east or north of London cant remember name now and I swiped a pair of flats inside one and nobody was around so certain muslim families I know for sure do this inside apartments and such

When I was in China last year I wanted to try on a shirt so the lady led me into a what looked like a storage room but I though ok what ever. As I looked around there was about 6 pairs of various shoes. I had to take advantage of the opportunity so I went and picked out a bunch more shirts. Went back in fucked and pair of pumps and dumped my whole load in them. Bought 2 shirts and left.

In Mediterranean countries people tend to take off their shoes before entering the house. More you go east more you can find shoes outside of the front door. West of Greece seems to keep their shoes on. Some french too but not sure. I heard spanish keep their shoes always on. Turkey and south-eastern from that point takes off their shoes no matter what. Northern areas take off their shoes after entering the house. But all Europe keeps expensive shoes inside their houses I guess.
Leaving heels outside of the house varies a lot. Couldn't find sources for the west.

Japan is the best. From what I've seen, they store shoes in a cabinet by the front door, and, the bathroom lies almost always on the side. Piece of cake.

Damn those guys are lucky! Must go travel overseas sometime. Australia mostly has shoes inside in people's bedrooms and walk in wardrobes. Damn shame

Where I live in the UK we never take shoes off before entering the house. Usually we change in the house to put on slippers, but the shoes are always stored inside.
When visiting my wife's parents about twenty years ago in South East Asia they had a selection of what I called communal slides/mules that were left scattered outside on the porch. Most of the time they took off their shoes just inside the door and stored them on a shelf unit inside each person's bedroom. In the house it was common to go barefoot, (The floor was tiled.) But if going out to the yard they popped on some of the communal slides, not necessarily even the correct pair. Just what was near. But these shoes were ugly!
