Anyone else notice this?

It doesn't happen all that often, but when it does, it puzzles me slightly.

Now, not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty good at troubleshooting PCs and I'm going to school for networking and hardware, but for some reason I haven't been able to figure out why this happens.

From time to time, when I'm browsing here, everything will be fine and then all of a sudden I click to view a topic and the loading animation on my browser just keeps going and the page never loads. I know it's not my internet connection because I can immediately open another instance of my browser or second tab in Firefox and load up youtube or google just fine. What this tells me is that it's an issue server-side not client side.

Does this site periodically go down or something? Because I notice that when this happens it's hours before it runs smoothly again. It'd be nice if I knew when maintenence happens and on what days if that is the case here.

Yes, sometimes the server is overloaded, especially when the databases are backing up around 3am Pacific Standard Time. It should only be 10 minutes or so, not several hours. If you notice a problem at a different time or for several hours, please let me know what hours. Thanks!
