A kisslock closure was simply a way to close the purse. Most purses have zippers. The kiss lock was like two little metal round things that appeared at the top of the purse. You would snap them together, and they would lock the purse closed. Check out this video, and fast forward to the 3:00 part. Watch for about 5 seconds, and you'll see her snap the purse shut with the kisslock.

Hey, no problem. I prefer zippered purses. Most kisslock purses, in my experience, are old granny purses. They don't have the WOW factor. Even that purse in the video didn't really phase me. I don't know, but zippers on purses, for me, are symbolic. A zipper on pants comes to mind. The zipper on pants, on either a man or a woman, is in front of the sexual organ. So, that's another way purses are related to sex, and so, purses need to be sexually penetrated, fucked, fondled, and felt-up. We just gotta do it privately, because of the obvious taboo associated with touching the purse belonging to ANY woman.

To classicleatherpurse......I agree but 200% with your statement and question about men carrying purses or bags. I have been carrying them for years! I love it. I used to wear them, mainly the big ones, when I traveled as everyone was carrying some sort of bag in the airport. Later to shopping malls,then the store, or library. As I mature I feel more confident about myself and daily take one to work. I have fun deciding on which one to wear and get it to match my clothes...just like a women! Why should they get to have all the fun? Of my big purse collection some I'll carry but some of the really smaller or especially "feminine" ones I don't carry but just use in private. It's sexy in a wierd way to carry a big purse and have it in the "open". Most women think I'm bold in a good way and not insecure to wear it. I think very few suspect the sexual turn-on we get. I just tell them I have a fetish for big soft bags or purses. I often get complements on my purses and alway by women only. I really don't care what the guys think. Tom Brady, NFL MVP, carries a purse as do more and more men. It's more accepted I think now. I feel like the gays did and do when they "came out" of the closet. What do the rest of you think? How about a survey....do you carry or not. Hell it's our right to wear or carry whatever we want! In the US especially in the more liberal parts of the country or bigger cities it's becoming less rare. Get out of the closet and wear your bags proudly!

To Claudius. Thank you for sharing your story and situation. Please see my related topic -Men wearing purses (payback time to girls). More power to you for feeling comfortable to wear a leather purse while out in public during the daytime.
I have only carried a purse in the daytime a few times, but mostly at night is when i feel comfortable carrying it since my neighbors aren't around at night. The only issues about wearing a purse at night is that there aren't many women around so that i can show it off in front of and also the police might think that i stole a purse....
However, i make sure to have paperwork, receipts from ebay purse purchases, paypal statements, correspondence emails with lady ebay sellers to prove to an asshole cop that I DID NOT steal a purse. Of course, in most cases and at night, i don't believe i would have a problem with a cop seeing me wear a purse because, if a purse was stolen, why would i wear one out in public for the world to see... Most people would assume, that i am feminine or that i need a leather bag/purse to carry my essentials. And i don't care what people think of me carrying a leather purse, whether it's a very feminine style or not. i am from the East Coast and it is probably a challenge for men to wear purses.
I am assuming that in the Midwest or on the West Coast (California) that it is easier for men like us, to wear leather purses. Some women like the fact that a man has a feminine style and can pull off that look of carrying a shoulder bag.
Some girls may feel more comfortable with a man that expresses himself in a feminine fashion rather than being with a man who is all tough and macho. I can be feminine and still be a man but i am NEVER MACHO.

Me carry a purse in public?
Hell no.
The first sight of such would be that I'm either holding it for my wife or girlfriend. Or that I'm some psycho nut bag who's begging to be messed with.
Believe me I'm not feminine in any way shape or form and definitely not some metro-sexual hipster .
I'm totally comfortable in my heterosexuality and the idea I have kinky fetish for ladies purses is fine --- in private. I just keep it under wraps and only a select few ladies know of my kink.
Why parade it about like those douche bags at some gay pride parade decked out in leather-S&M gear and thongs and feather boas. (Yeah....they are that bad.)

By the way:
Wearing those man-purses is a total turn off for the ladies.

Hey, Vito!!! I agree with you 100%. I don't carry a purse outside my home, and never intend to either. It's my little sexual fetish, and i may talk about it with you cool cats here on this website, and other sites, but that's as far as it goes. I have about 500 purses, and my collection is always growing. I'll never wear one outside the house, unless, maybe one Halloween i decide to go out in drag or something. Same for my high heel pump collection. I have about 110 pair, and it's growing, but i'll never put a pair on and walk out on the town, unless, like i said about the purses, it's Halloween. My purse collection , as well as my pump collection, is more than any close female friend's collection that i have known in my lifetime. I love the types of purses and shoes that signify 100% that they're made for females. Tom Brady isn't going to carry a chanel classic quilted leather bag on his shoulder, or a Coach Madison Juliette Patent bag, or any purses with bows or ribbons or printed high heels or purses or any images of lipstick, or hearts on the bag, or any other bag that appears to be feminine. I AM, but in the comfort of my own home, not out on the town shopping, where someone's going to think i'm gay. If i go into Macy's, for example, i'll be walking through the handbags department, and looking at the hot purses that are in stores, and if i like one, i'll grab it, take it to the sales counter, and buy it. I am not worried about what other shoppers think, or the employees think. I will not try on the purse, by putting it on my shoulder and stand in front of a mirror, to see how it looks. Why would i do that? I am just buying it for masturbation. Same with the shoe department. I'll buy a hot pair of heels by Jessica Simpson or whichever maker. Let's say they're pink patent pumps with a 3" or 4" heel. I'll ask the sales person if they have any in 8.5M, which is my size. They'll go back in the back, and find a pair in my size, and bring it out. I am not going to put them on in the store, to try on. I am going to take them home, like i am buying them for a female friend or family member. In reality, i am going to take them home and wear them around the house, while i play with my purses.

I'm glad my comments generated such great and detailed replies. Good points all around. We each need and ought to do what ever we are comfortable doing or not doing. One specific purse does not necessarily turn every one on so to speak. The discussion is what is important.
For example I will carry only "certain" purses and not many others. I only carry them at certain times and places and it is very subjective of which, when, and where.
It also depends if I'm anonymous, eg. just in the crowd, or with certain friends or groups I know. So I'm not completely "free" either and don't alway want to be carrying one. I'd rather my wife do but if she won't then I may. Most of them have to be very big oversized bags or totes and I wouldn't think of carrying most of the "feminine" bags mentioned above. Likewise, I don't ever wear any of my sexy leather or vinyl clothes in public except on Halloween or if they were around, to a Fetish Club. I'll continue to submit stories and pictures of some my purses if desired...... or just shut up and watch from the sidelines as apparently many do. Generally I think it is best for everyone to contribute and respect the fact that even though we all are crazy about purses, etc. ...we are also all over the map in our uses and preferences. Yes, ihumpherpurse explained it perfectly. The kiss lock closure was used mainly in the 50's and 60's on bags, coin purses and nowadays leather cigarette cases. Your grandmother probably had a coin purse that closed that way. Everything about them gets me hot, REALLY hot!!
