I got my very first pair of NIKE trainers in 1982, I was 17yo! They were "Yankee" trainers, exactly this color (light grey, white, black) , size 9US :
The NIKE brand had appeared in France for a very short time! I loved my Nikes so much! I took good care of them, and they lasted almost five years. I loved so much their very simple design, and their colors. I still remember how comfy they were, and how people used to stare at them with envy !..
The "vintage" is very fashionable, I really hope that one day NIKE will reissue these superb "Yankees" !
Hi, Marksas! Indeed! I remember that at that time, in France, very few girls wore this type of trainer. Most of them wore leather sneakers, old school design. But when I saw a girl with this style of trainer, it was a divine sight! I still remember a girl in high school who had the same NIKE Yankees but with sky blue instead of black. In addition they were in a small size. I did not miss an opportunity to look at her feet! But she wasn't in my class, so I had to be patient and wait for breaks between classes!
