Great thread. They were quite common worn by both men and women during the 2000s. I had a couple pairs and my wife three pairs (one being a slip-on). Here's a scene from "Housewives Unleashed #14" with Sarah Jade wearing a pair of Nike Xccelerators, which are quite visible throughout the scene. Joelean also is wearing the same pair in another scene in this video, but I Jade's scene has better positions and views.

I'd forgotten about that model...that was a great shoe, probably the first time I liked a strictly "athletic" model. Used to have a couple pairs...only gave them up once they fell apart. Just weren't designed to last a decade or whatever. Definitely miss the old cloth linings and soft insoles. Synthetics have many magical properties, but can't ever replicate that feel. Harder to clean too (imo).
