Sorry heelcrazy, i was having a go at you, but i was just saying the same as in2shoes:
don't forget that "some" anti virus programs view some cookies as trojans especially if they are tracking types .......i
but remember........ even paranoids have enemies !
Thats all, but yeah, i mean it all depends on how high the security is on the scanners and real-time scanners i guess, and the one which you use. But yeah, probs a tracking cookie...thanks tho
I have had my pc for over three years now, and have visited many dodgy sites, you can pay big money for "anti virus solutions" but my internet provider is by virgin (yes richard branson), and it has never let me down, using vigin pc guard has stopped all that crap getting into my computer

Warm Greets peebee! I just dont want my ISP Elion controlling things for me what comes to ports opened and my traffic control, I´ll do it myself with my rooter and a main PC. All my ports are opened and my local server is taking care of all the traffic (28M/8M connection +IPTV HDTV).

If you accept, the choose "All service ports" they should all be green (stealth), which is a good thing, then you know ur pretty high up in the security side of things

Tried that and have been told, that all of my ports are opened and I am so opened to outside threats...but try breaking in to an IP xx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Well as long as you know ur ok, thats all that matters i guess.
I show up as stealthed on all.
Also, the only thing i can do with the IP addy is ping it. Cant connect to anything as i assume thats your routers IP address? so wont be able to do much without the right tools lol as its just talkin to the router, not ur PC's. The reason why a router is a good seciruty device, espeically with a built in firewall
Never even thought a router is my safeguard against all...Just depending on my server, that is standing first in row in my home network. And It is as the other two standalone PC-s, a HP 8400 workstation with Avast! and some additional protections on them, talking about ´em would already be a security risk...Only security voulnerable thing are my 2 laptops, cause my local wifi network is protected only by a WPA2 key.

So is yours set up so that the server is directly connected to the net, then it sends to conntection to a switch (router)?
Might be better to swap em around, the router is a good security device lol. People who connect via a usb modem or summit (not a router), can be comprimised over the net, but not locally, where as even with the WPA2 security, you can be done locally, but pretty damn hard lol. I use router on two PC's and three laptops, aint had a problem yet. Thr router is at the front of everything, so the only way people can get to my PC (as we all use the same IP address as it is only the router with the internet IP address), is if i send an invite to someone from the specific machine...tis goooooooooood!!! Or if they were really that determined, im sure they could break it all down, but i dont think im really that important for anyone to go through the trouble
I am not troubled at all with all my 4 to 5 PC-s, since I have never been infected...and now as an experiment to use new software, I´ll try Ubuntu on my first workstation to see if Linux -based PC is safer to protect me even more.
But thanx for the discussion on safety!
P.S Just wanted to warn on a security issue here!
