Modern boot styles

Post by bootjock »

Has anyone else noticed how much boot styles and trends have changed over the past 10-12 years?

Around a decade ago in the UK, most knee high/over knee boots were from brands like Faith, Dune, River Island, Topshop etc, and their designs were often leather, pointed or rounded toe, with buttons, side zips, buckles etc (more things to jizz on 😈)

Around 4/5 years ago suede was the fashion, there were loads of OTK suede boots but less leather styles being made.

Nowadays designs have almost went back to what they were in the 60s and seventies, knee high, square toe, block heel, synthetic look, also much plainer to look at, with less buttons/buckles etc. Zara and Public Desire seem very strong on this type of look.

I've always been a big fan of a square toe, but part of me would like to see some more 'extras' like fake zips, buckles etc on todays boots

What do other forum members think of the current fashion trends?

I have a feeling stiletto pointy boots with inside zips is going to be making a comeback, i remember the late 90s 2000s pointy boots were everywhere, seems that trend is making a comeback in the next few years.

Some high street brands like Zara have pointy, round toe and block heel boots, omg and they got these shiny patent over knee boots, super sexy.

Leather fashion seems so strong nowadays then it was before, i noticed long leather coats are coming back too, man i remember back in the 90s 2000s long leather coats were a thing.

I’ve always been keen of slouchy flat leather boots with some buckles or zippers. Those were in 10 years ago, sadly now everything looks awful lol

I've seen that combat boots were pretty popular around 2013. Doc Martens also got pretty popular too, probably because of Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" music video.
