Tricky situation at the thrift store

I was at a thrift store (Goodwill) and saw some gorgeous OTK black suede boots by Naughty Monkey and had to have them. I took them into the changing room with a couple of dresses - partly to cover up that I was taking boots in the changing room and the dresses were draped and folded so the didn't look like anything out of the ordinary. I tried on one of the dresses with the boots and they were perfect. But, when I went to take them off, the zipper was stuck and would not even begin to unzip. So there I was in just my underwear and the boots tugging at all angles but they would just not budge at all. After a short panic I realized I was going to have to wear them out under my pants and just explain to the clerk what happened. She giggled and said "well that's a first" but was very nice about it and wished me luck in getting them off at home. I bought one of the dresses (a stripped Jessica Simpson) and it and my shoes out to the car.
I had a pair of needle nose pliers in the car and eventually got them to go. It was a wild mix of panic and excitement as it settled in that I was going to have to wear them out of the store - and explain why.
