Re: Wedge Sneaker - just some pics
Didn't get my camera working again until today, sorry for the long delay. These are the wedge sneakers that I have...the white balance is still off somehow, so I apologize for the colors being kinda washed out. They look nicer in person, I swear.
I don't know what I'd call these, exactly. Picked them up at Payless a while ago...technically they're Disney branded based on some show or other they had, but I have no idea what it was. But, they're cute and I don't know of others quite like them, so I rank them as some of my favorite sneakers. Very comfortable and they go with anything except leather.
Jeffrey Campbell "Lita" wedge sneakers. These are made of good quality white leather, both inside and out, and are pretty fancy for sneakers. They're a little too formal for me to just wear everyday as "kicks", but they fit with more upscale stuff and are definitely "sexy" instead of "girly". I wear these to impress, although they are also quite comfortable too. Well worth the high price (I was lucky and got mine half off for ~$50, fortunately).
Puma "Madeira" wedge sneakers. I got these about a month ago but haven't actually had a chance to wear yet. They're pretty nice though. Higher than I'm used to for wedges, but that's okay with me, since I prefer higher heels anyway. The narrow wedge is a nice contrast and helps make them stand out among the crowd. The mesh is also breathable, so it seems like they'd be comfortable to wear all day long. My only complaint is the lack of a zipper; these have to actually be laced and unlaced, unlike the others.
Adidas bb9tis wedge sneaker boot. The newest addition to my collection - just got them today, but I already love them. Definitely a bold statement that doesn't go with everything or every place, but they are unbelievably comfortable. Feels good on the skin, breathable due to mesh and air holes. I don't even have to fuss with the laces, since they were designed to be slipped on and off...very convenient shoes. Even though these were the most costly of them all (like $90), I don't regret the purchase at all.
Finally, I also bought some Converse wedges today. But I don't have a picture because I've decided I don't like them... in fact, I'm going to be returning them to the store. The sizing is weird, both compared to other wedge sneakers, but also to normal Converse high tops. The shape is unusual; they look "bloated". They're unusually heavy, even for wedge sneakers; feels like weights on my feet. And, worst of all, they're expensive: $65 new, rarely below $35 used. For that kind of money, I need to really love shoes and wear them a lot. But that just isn't the case. I prefer my regular white high top Converse, or my other four wedge sneakers. Others probably feel the same way ... this is probably why they are rarely seen in public and aren't popular. I would not recommend them; very disappointed.
