My friend's slippers (07-08-2022)

Yeah, it's a cool game, I understand. I don't just think I could be as patient as you are,
I've read all the discussion, I love how she wears her slippers everywhere, as shoes, not caring at all! Did she really ever wear her ballet slippers for gardening or such dirty occasion?

She's told me that she has in the past. I've not witnessed my self though. She says it usually happens suddenly and on accident. She'll go outside in her slippers to check the mail or take the trash to the curb. Then she'll see somthing in the garden that needs done. Usually starts small and eventually she'll notice that her slippers are still on. If they are new and in good condition, she'll go inside and change but if they are dirty and old then she admits that they aren't worth saving and she has sacrificed them doing gardening or yard work.

Finally paid her a visit. She was walking around barefoot, no slippers on her feet. I casually looked around for them but didn't see them anywhere. Not in her closet. Not by the bed. Not under the coffee table. I was starting to think that she had disposed of them. Then I stumbled across them in the garage. Normally her black nike slides live out there but the slides were nowhere to be seen. I grabbed the slippers and took them inside. Told her that she forgot them out in the garage. She told me that she didn't forget them... they're out there on purpose. She said that they stink too much... she can smell them at night when they're beside the bed. She also told me that they got soaked and got garbage juices dripped on them when she wore them out in the rain carrying the trash bags to the curb. Which made them stink even worse. She told me to go put them back because they are no longer permitted in the house. She doesn't mind my strange infatuation with her shoes but it's not the most entertaining thing to talk about so that was all she said. I asked a few more questions about their fate and how much longer they have to live. She just shrugged and mumbled that she didn't know. I know that the garage is usually where shoes/slippers end up right before they get sacrificed or thrown away. Mud, grass, dirt, dog poop... all it will take is for her to step in somthing and they'll come off her feet and be throw still warm and sweaty into the trash can

Hopefully we can get an update about these slippers. This is a fun thread to read up on and how very used her slippers get.

I got a very brief opportunity to sneak a few pics. I went into the garage to see if they were even still around. Turns out they are. I only had a few moments ago a snuck a few quick pics. Even though they aren't allowed in the house, they look like they have been receiving alot of wear. I think she's still wearing them in the house, doing chores but puts then back in the garage when she's done.

At what point do you no longer consider them slippers, but instead call them remains of slippers?

Sorry it's been so long. I've been busy and I haven't been over at her house as much lately. I was over there earlier this week and discovered that the grey slippers are still hanging on AND she's wearing them in the house again. She told me they live in the garage or in the kitchen. They live a lonely life exiled away from all her other shoes. She wears her new slippers when relaxing (which I still have not caught a glimpse of yet) and wears these cleaning and doing chores. She told me that their time is up. She's not exactly sure when but guaranteed that they will be thrown away this week. Anytime between now and garbage pickup day. Says they leave chunks and peices of them all over and are constantly snagging on things and tripping her. It is finally time to say goodbye to these slippers.

These pictures we're taken this morning. They will probably be the last time anyone is ever going to see these slippers. Trash day is only two days away. This is what it looks like when a woman shows no respect and no mercy. Doesn't matter how weak or beat up they get... she just keeps on wearing them until there's nothing left.

Today was the day. Sadly, this will be the last time anyone will see these poor over worked slippers. She decided today was "spring cleaning" day. She worked these poor slippers harder than I've ever seen her work them. Starting early in the morning. She dusted, she did dishes, she scrubbed the toilets, vacuumed, laundry l, etc. I thought for sure she was going to kill them but they somehow managed to survive. When she was done with chores... she threw these in the trash and took it outside where the truck picked it up later. They are now gone forever. She put on her new slippers and is now relaxing. Likely already forgotten about those poor grey slippers.
