There is a place in my heart and a time for "normal" platforms and those hidden which give extra heel height but make walking and wearing more comfortable although I think they never look as dainty as the more classic forms, a lower equivalent heel on the right style can look just as or even more sexy when longer wear is an issue.
That said, a woman who fully appreciates what her shoes can do and is comfortable in them whatever heel height or style, is more appealing than one who isn't.
