If I were to try and answer the question but replace it with my own fetish (heels i.e. stilettos, boots) I would say this: it's about multiple things combined, not any one thing. The sexy lines and curvature of the shoe alone isn't enough, that's why I like them to be previously worn and owned, preferably by an attractive woman. knowing that she has worn them, and that the smell is now a truly unique combination of foot odour, sweat, and the normal fragrances of a high heel is part of the attraction. shoe/foot fetishs are on a spectrum, so there's naturally variation. I suspect that people like heels for a variety of reasons, some that would seem more strange to you than the reasons why people like sneakers. My taste is heels maps very closely to the shoes that I see around me, i.e. what is considered cute and sexy by young mainstream american standards. So when I look at other, especially older members, I can't imagine why they are into the shoes they are into.
