Well 68newman, I take the trouble to share what hopefully good things with the board, and although it would be easiest for me to simply copy and paste a link directly, I was advised sites hosting photos or vids can take exception to a direct link (hotlink) being used, and remove the item being linked to.
Changing to hxxp means it is not "hotlinked" so is not blocked or removed as quickly.
Given some links I shared were almost immediately removed by the host site after a member decided to re-post them as http, that advice still seems accurate.
I would hope having to change hxxp to http is seen as a small price to pay for making links last as long as possible, allowing more members the chance to see and enjoy.
The choice is there to simply change the hxxp, I hope the links I post are thought worth the effort, but if it is too much trouble, not to bother.
I am frankly beginning to wonder if I should be bothered any more.
