The colder weather is coming, so is it going to be too cold to carry on going out without wearing socks?

Depends
On the weather, how soon you're getting cold feet, how tight you wear them (okay, so more sooner than later), and what material and thickness they have.
For example, a pair of substitute leather Stan Smith clones would surely do the job for a few degrees less than "standard" sneakers... or Air Max sneakerboots... there's always a way!
(My winter shoes are K-Swiss Lozan - skater style, probably no genuine leather, quite air tight... plus they have a non-skid sole!)
