The colder weather is coming, so is it going to be too cold to carry on going out without wearing socks?

Depends ;)
On the weather, how soon you're getting cold feet, how tight you wear them (okay, so more sooner than later), and what material and thickness they have.
For example, a pair of substitute leather Stan Smith clones would surely do the job for a few degrees less than "standard" sneakers... or Air Max sneakerboots... there's always a way!

(My winter shoes are K-Swiss Lozan - skater style, probably no genuine leather, quite air tight... plus they have a non-skid sole!)
